January Transfer Window Thread - rumours and signings here

The whole Man City thing is utter madness, but very amusing.

I would imagine Kaka's enthusiasm, however little it may be, might be dampened upon hearing their other January targets are of the very average ilk of Santa Cruz, Bellamy and Parker.

Rose amongst thorns comes to mind.

just saw this on the old bbc gossip

Disney-owned American broadcaster ESPN could enter the battle for live Premier League TV rights when bids start for the next contract, which runs from 2010 to 2013. (The Guardian)

Don't sound too good:(

Maybe I misunderstood it - but surely that would have no effect on the price in the UK as ESPN dont broadcast here

Currently the Premiership and FA Cup games in the US are shown on Fox Soccer Channel, so part of the Sky/Murdoch empire. Champions League is shown on ESPN.

:D Love FSC lol they have the regular English commentators during the game but at half times they have their cheesy yanks analyzing the game with not much idea and keep referring to every team by the mascot/nickname "The red devils down here against the Villans" :D Villa lol !!

From what I remember ESPN currently have a presence here through NASN and ESPN classic.

I think they're planning on overhauling NASN and introducing another ESPN channel over here.

Wenger justifying that not signing anyone wouldn't be disasterous because we have Rosicky, Fabregas and Walcott who are all creative, and will be back at some point is absolutely hilarious.

I'm laughing, but I should be crying.

I hope the Kaka transfer happens. It would be good to see him more. He already donates a portion of his wages to charity, he could do a lot of good with 500k a week (if that's even true). And it's good to see Mark Hughes, the manager of Man City, has a small say in who gets bought too. hehe He's so gone in the summer.

This whole Kaka thing cannot be even remotely true/close/serious of a deal - can it?

Considering some Man City officials are talking about it now to the media I would say that it is very true. He doesn't want to come and of course he wouldn't from a football perspective. But as said before, his agents will be working 24 hours a day to push the deal through. It doesn't really matter what he wants I imagine.
