Been getting several emails/calls from Barclays about upgrading my account to this one. It seems to have some decent adds (travel ins, RAC, will writing etc) but it's £14 a month. Anyone here use this account and make use of the additions?
 
I don't see how anyone else making use of the additions is relevant.

If they are useful to you and worth more then £14/month upgrade your account. If not, don't.
 
it depends if it suits you, got it myself, got a 200 quid reserve, breakdown cover which I have used twice already, mobile cover aswell and travel insurance (will never use that but you never know lol)

all depends on your needs really, if the package saves you on alternatives then it works out a decent deal

my rac breakdown was 11 quid or something a month and additions was 11 at the time so was a no brainer
 
I have an Additions Plus account, and I'm very happy with what I get for £14 a month!

Full Comprehensive RAC cover (inc Europe) - Peace of mind
Multi-trip Worldwide Travel Insurance - I travel around a lot
Mobile Phone Insurance - Saved me having to spend £160 to replace a phone.
Domestic Emergency Cover - Not had to use so far!

So all in all, the above has saved me a packet! When you consider that Full RAC cover for 1 person is about 140 quid/ year!

FYI: If you're a graduate you can get this for £5/month

It's called Graduate additions.

I have to work for a living so don't qualify for this :)

The travel insurance will come in handy cos we go away at least twice a year and my breakdown cover is also due soon so that will save me some dosh. They also mention a will writing service which is something I've also been looking at, you never know when the Mrs will trip down them stairs :D

Full Comprehensive RAC cover (inc Europe) - Peace of mind as free AA cover with car expired last year

Multi-trip Worldwide Travel Insurance - I also travel around a lot and it covers me and the g/f - covered us in Egypt for the doctors expenses when she needed anti-biotics and doctors visits a few years back to the tune of about £200

Mobile Phone Insurance - Not used so far

Domestic Emergency Cover - Had them out twice to my central heating boiler, first time boiler wouldn't start and needed a £250 repair all covered. Second time a differen't part had failed and they replaced that also which would have been £300. So not bad (had prices quoted by friends who diagnosed the problems beforehand)

Again, as said above, it's whether it's worth £14 to you not to anyone else.

Just remembered the will writing thingy, had that done also last year, i think you get one a year so can make alterations to it also.

I upgraded to this last Tuesday! Got my paperwork through and just gotta ring up to register my phone for the mobile phone insurance! Not sure if i will bother with the will writing as i dont expect to die yet :D
 
I had this for about 2 years, never used anything on it, cancelled it... spend £14 a month on booze/KFC/Petrol and enjoy my new spending more.
