Depends if you need an overdraft or not really, if you're not letting too much money sit in the account one of the bank accounts that offer you £100 for switching to them might be best.

Edit: Probably want to find out if there's a branch near you to go into if you need, and stuff like whether you want telephone/internet/in branch banking, what charges they have and what customer service is like and stuff

i allways withdraw all my money, saftey reasons, unless i spend on internet payday, like to be safe :)

So do you need a bank then? im pretty sure your money's safe with most banks with their fraud protection schemes. Unless you willingnly advertise your details on the internet

whats the point of your thread then if you're not looking for any sort benefits you can get from different banks?

Exactly what I thought, if all you want to do is put money in and withdraw it the next day then every account is the same. :p

If you at least used a debit/credit card to buy stuff instead of withdrawing cash, then you would get some interest.

I'm using a hsbc current account at the moment, which aint bad, i've had good service, good helpful callcentres.
But i'm not really sure what you're asking, you've got a bank account, if you just use cash (rubbish for your credit rating), then theres no point in changing accounts.

well at the moment i use my Visa Electron online and at cash points, but sometimes i save my wages for a week or two, depending on what i want, and i went into Farm-Foods? once for some cheap things and they refused to take my card, i had money in bank, no cash on me, there card machines were down and they were using manual imprinters, so i cant use my card on those, no raised digits...

Any way, chap in Halifax says if i get a Curent Account? i can use my card in a lot more places and mroe places online, and get some good interest rate or something...

Alliance Leicester do a Premier current account which gives you £100 cashback when you join (and an extra £25 cashback if you want a recommendation, lol) and an interest free overdraft for a year. I've had it for a couple of months, sems alright.

well, i got a new bank account, went for Halifax's Ultimate Reward, £12.50 a month fee, 0% interest on first £300 overdraft, phone insurance, RAC breakdown cover, and a massive list of over things :)

Are you going to be taking advantage of any of the things you're paying £12.50 per month for?
