What RPM doing 60, 70 and 80 on a motorway?

So my car is geared to 175mph?
If it got to 7000 RPM, which it doesn't by standard! Normal limiter is at 6500 RPM so 163 MPH.
probably, but does it have the power to get it there? (if it was delimited?)

honest question. The gears are probably setup to be "eco friendly", not so it can push 175mph :D
Based on my calculations, real top speed of the 330/530 is about 158 MPH.

Is the engine actually noisy at those revs when going along at say 110, or is it just buzzing? Like I find my engine is OK and more buzzing at different tones until around 5.5k, then gets genuinely loud pretty quickly after that.

its SCREAMING. But i wouldnt hear it (or anything else for that matter) because of my chavtastic Piper catback exhaust that im regretting buying.

The Car is a shopping trolly as fox would put it, not a motorway mile muncher :)

'67 Ford Anglia, 4th gear, 5000rpm at 80mph from memory.

'54 Ford Pop, 3rd gear, got it to 80 a few times but it was at very silly rpms for that old engine :D

Approx 5000 at 70mph on gps in top gear with 8000 rpm to go.

Can't remember as to ever looking, but thats what it works out as with current gearing :(

edit: I can happily sit @ 70mph in 1st though (or 100).. a little loud though and not very smooth lol

I'm sure mine is 6750?
Gives you something to check :p

Mine's been 6800 RPM since the remap.

Looking at the data the top speed of the 330/530 would be higher if they made the gears a little longer.. probably squeeze 160 MPH out of a standard one if the gearing matched the top speed and peak power.

At a rough guess;

~3300RPM 60mph
~3400RPM 70mph
~3700RPM 80mph

In my 1.4 Corsa Breeze.

Not brilliant or economic and hard on the engine!

Unfortunately, my journey home from work means no motorways as it is such a short stretch but I'll come back with more accurate readings.

Renault told my parents that the 1.6 engine is dire and should be avoided. This after them selling them a 1.6...

Is it an auto? Cause those figures really make no sense!

~3300RPM 60mph = 55 RPM per MPH
~3400RPM 70mph = 49 RPM per MPH
~3700RPM 80mph = 46 RPM per MPH

Unless you're changing gear :p

Just do 2000 RPM in top gear and record your speed - you can work out the rest.
