What RPM doing 60, 70 and 80 on a motorway?

Ok drove home from work and checked for certainty

60 = 2700RPM
70 = 3300RPM
80 = 3700RPM

5th gear, cruise.

Not too shabby...

Unless you're changing gear

Just do 2000 RPM in top gear and record your speed - you can work out the rest.

its probably because hes not really doing 60/70/80 because the guage is so far out?

its the same reason i take 4000rpm as 70mph

6th gear at 80mph in mine is just under 3000rpm(27.5mph/1000)97 m3

seem to remember the new srt-10 viper is geared for 50+mph/1000 in top.talk about cruising gear

i think its around 3900rpm for 70 in fiesta zetec 1.25.

Possible, but I can't imagine it swinging from dead accurate to 10% out over the course of 3 "real" MPH

Just the same as my old Fiesta when it had the 1.0 lump, only I pushed it to (an indicated) 90 and it went

RUUUUUUUR_KNOCK_KNOCK_KNOCK

and then the oil pressure light came on
