4GB and Windows 7 64bit won't boot!

Ok so, I'm using 4GB of ram in Windows 7 64 bit, Windows 7 is only picking up 3 of this 4GB.

There is an option in my BIOS called Memory Remapping, when this is enabled the BIOS picks up the full amount but Windows 7 will refuse to boot, instead it will just hang at the starting windows scene.

I can get into safe mode with this option enabled and in safe mode task manager shows me the full 4GB is ready and available to use.

So why on earth can I not boot into normal Windows mode?

What exactly is the problem and has anyone come across this before?

I've just tried a fresh install and even put my system back at stock and it still didn't want to do it!

The only way I can get in is through safe mode grrr!

Can't offer you an explanation but maybe it's possible it's just a bug in Windows 7? Might be using 4GB of RAM, just not showing it for some reason. Have you tried any programs that would make use of it all?

Well Windows 7 is showing exactly the same amount of ram that my bios shows. Windows XP also has the same behaviour (refusing to boot with remapping enabled but boots fine without)

Think uve proved it and issue with your Mobo and not W7 then. Is there any Bios updates available?

This is my thinking, I have the latest BIOS though and apparantly remap problems were sorted way back in 2006. But how come Safe mode works just fine with remap?

Just for the record ACPI 2.0 was disabled in my BIOS when I installed Windows 7 but this wouldn't affect the memory would it?
