Some sata ports red some black? P5K

Hiya,

I've got an Asus P5K (standard) mother board....

I can't find the manual for my mother board, but I've just realised that a couple of the sata ports on my mobo are black and a couple are red. Just wondered what this means?

I was also wondering if I can raid 2xRaptors on this board or will I need a seperate raid controller?

The JMicron® JMB363 suck compared to Intel tbh. Just use the Intel controller (which is usually the higher number of same coloured ports ;), in your case the red - step away from the Black ;).
 
Just been reading something online about how my board only supports raid0 on the external esata port!

Anyone know if this is bs or not?

May have to buy a seperate raid controller if this is the case :(

I've done this and it appears my mobo SUCKS!!! It only lets me use raid with the EXTERNAL eSata port.

What a bunch of ass :(

Dissapointed cause I was going to Raptor it all up.
