Hi there,

I currently have a lot of passwords and have been using the "forgot password" function for many of the websites i have a logon for.

Can anyone recommend a password management program so I can get them all saved and sorted out.

Ideally, i would like to run this directly from a USB drive without installation, in addition i am happy to pay a small amount for a good product but freeware would be nice.

Thanks

Yetiii

I agree that i can use firefox and i am currently adding quite a few of my passwords there. The problem comes when i want to refer to some of these passwords on a different pc (ie at work).

In addition, i would like these passwords to be safe in the event of rebuilding my pc, hence wanting to store them on a usb drive.

Doesn't the Foxmarks add-in for Firefox now also do passwords? Seem to recall 1 of the last few updates claimed this but I've only ever used the bookmark sync function.

I originally posted the question to the community in order to find a tried and tested application that will fit my needs.

keepass password safe

I did find Keepass just before I posted the question. It looks great! But before i committed my time setting it up properly, i thought i would ask around.

OP - Do you mean something like this:

http://www.novell.com/products/securelogin/

Its a great idea in todays age.

I am not aware of a none commercial equivalent.

I have had a quick look at this. Shame it is only for commercial use. I know HP do something similar on their laptops but it is a resource hog.

I will give Keepass a go now, thanks for all your replies!

I use the KeePass Portable software to keep a list of my passwords on my USB memory key. I got it from: http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/keepass_portable. :)
