Hi All,

I am looking at upgrading from a E6600 to a E8400 processor.
I also feel its time to do the same with my motherboard. I have a P5N32-E SLI fitted at the moment and it does not appear to be particularly good for o/clocking, system crashes on even the mildest o/clock. So I am considering an Asus P5Q mobo to go with the E8400.
My question is…….will the ram I’m using (4 GB of Geil Value ram) be suitable for the proposed set-up?
Would the mobo and processor be a good choice?

P5Q and cpu good, prob wont see much of an improvment tho.

And you may as well spent at lest an extra £40 and buy some decent 4gb corsair stuff. means it will overclock better as well

I've read that ASUS P5Q Motherboard is not easier to overclock. I'd suggest you to look for more reviews about overclocking on the ASUS P5Q.

Thanks to you all for your input.
I have taken your comments on board, and will probably wait a while and possibly go for the i7.

Thanks again.
