Hi Folks.

If someone could do some subtle HDr on this image I would be grateful

I would also love to see it stormy.

I only have the image in JPG. The attempts I have been doing in Lightroom and then photomatrix were poor (it is my first time with HDR). I am trying to bring out the shows and curves in the snow on the far left and right. When I was up there it looked like white silk over the rocks; very smooth and soft

Is there anything that can be done about the noise? The camera that took it was a small olympus compact.

Thanks!

Why do you want to make it a HDR image? For that you need 3 exposures anyway, but its primarily intended for images with large differences in contrast. Your image is pretty well exposed and there is no loss of detail due to a large change in contrast across the image, so I don't think it'd benefit from it. It's a great picture anyway and I don't think it needs much doing to it tbh.

In lightroom there are noise removal options on the processing tab IIRC which can help clean up the images a fair bit.

ah cool, thanks Jotun.
I'm just getting into post processing and wondered what would happened to it.

Random question but where was that?

It reminds me of the Three Valleys, possibly somewhere near VT?

Well I was a bit bored so I thought I'd give it a go anyway. Since there's only 1 image, I edited it to increase the exposure by +2 and -2 stops, as would be done normally when taking a HDR photo. Then I merged them in photomatix and played with the sliders a bit, and then imported back into photoshop to remove some of the noise. Using photomatix added a fair bit of noise.

Side by side for comparison with your original;

In the end, the result wasn't much different to what you started with, I think I prefer the original. Perhaps someone else could do a better job, but I don't think it's necessary in this case as the starting image is already great. That said, I'm trying to avoid creating HDR images anyway so my skills might be a bit rusty.

Full sized image if you want it: http://www.whoracle.com/images/panoedited.jpg (14MB :eek:)
