All the threads about biltong reminded me to upload a few pictures of my trips over there. The first lot is from Kruger national park. I love South Africa and think everyone should visit at least once if they are able to. The scenery is breathtaking to say the least. Enjoy :)

This was one of the restcamps we stayed at, Lower Sabie. Its right next to the Sabie river (I think). We had our own hut, that was practically brand new, with a huge shower, nice kitchen and a braai (not shown in the pic).

This is what the hut backed on to, was great to just sit there and chill out in the evening and watch the animals drink.

Looks a bit like a public toilet from the outside but it was very nice on the inside..

He got quite close to the car and then went under so we made a hasty getaway!

This was my favourite place, the restcamp is called Olifants and it overlooks the Olifants river. Personally I dont think I will ever stay somewhere more picturesque ever again. The pictures pretty much speak for themselves :) The outdoor kitchen was ace (just had to make sure everything was secured so the monkeys didnt steal it!!

Great photos thanks for sharing. I'm off to Capetown in a couple of weeks, can't wait. Unfortunately I will not have time to go to Kruger but I believe I can do a day trip to one of the parks. I'll have to do some more research now.

Ive got a load of photos from CT as well, if I have time to upload them tonight I will do, just in the middle of packing for a trip to Austria!

no offense but where the pics taken with a camera phone?

Dont think they quite do the trip justice but still looks amazing.

No, they were taken with a Canon Powershot A640. A few of them are zoomed in using digital zoom which is why the quality is degraded. Besides, no pictures do Kruger justice, only a visit does :)

I spent five days in Lower Sabie on a school trip when I was 12. Unfortunately, I can't remember all that much, apart from the first day when we watched a leopard eating an antelope in a tree. It was way cool :D

*notes down as place to go*

Thanks. ;) Looks like an amazing place. How much does it usually cost to go/stay there? How long were you there for?
