Spec me an electric guitar for less than £100 :)

Hello all,

New hobby - electric guitar. Turns out I can do it relatively well although I've never touched one before in my life!

So I'm after a cheapish one, the best I can get for sub-£100.

Any ideas?

edit: and do yourself a favour and spend a little more to get something with a half decent action, Yamaha Pacifica's seem to come recommended.

Really you're looking at about £90 for something decent, anything less than that and the strings dont seem to resonate right, and the bodies are rubbish.
And what about an amp?

3rd vote for a Pacifica. Will pick one up SH for 75 quid if you keep your eye out.
Surprising just how many considerably more expensive guitars the yamaha seems to eclipse.

Hmm, that EG is a weird model, not an "actual" 112, keep looking!

I've got an Epiphone Les Paul Junior that I picked up for £99 from a music shop in Cardiff. Plays lovely and has got a really sweet pickup. The lead guitarist in my band loves it so much he's given up asking me to sell it to him and is going to buy his own.

That guitar took more abuse than Sid Vicious and sounded great for the price I paid for it. Definitely a contender.

In fact mine still works now, dropped it down the stairs once
