Hi,

I'm in the market for a 4870x2 R700 (the one uses 3 slots) and found one at fairly decent price.

What are the warranty and customer services like?

Cheers,
Korduo

Palit also use the brand Xpertvision in the UK. They are relatively unheard of here but will be just as reliable as any other. If the price is good, go for it.

Palit are a very big and very good brand in South America. They do tend to come up with some very innovative cooling solutions for thier GFX's, that put some of the well known brands that we get, to shame.

If you have got the chance of grabbing one in the Uk, then go for it. As long as you get it from a good retail outlet, then warranty should'nt really be a problem.

Thanks for the information, I was thinking of getting it from a well known auction site, therefore I'm a bit concerned about the warranty,

Do PALIT have a office or HQ in the UK, I was hoping I would be able to return directly rather then via retail outlet.

Thanks for all the help once again.

BTW, is £355 for the 4870x2 R 700?

Usually a manufacturer will only honor their warranty if the card is bought from a certified reseller, eBay sales I'm guessing wont be ?

Si

Good as the card may be, laying out that much dosh on an auction site, along with an iffy warranty. I would avoid it like the plague.

Yea, last thing I want is to spend the money and then it breaks and I'm out of pocket.
I found a place or two selling the same card, but its like £399 or above £400.

Ok, it's a bit dearer. But as long as it is fully warranted, the price is fairly much on a par with all the normal 4870x2's, but with the added bonus of some trick cooling.

Edit:I'd suggest you do another search. I've just found it at £360inc vat +delivery, with a 2 year warranty.
