asus bios flash

i just upped my board from the 1406 to their new 1702, ocing just wont work with this bios. just crashs on xp load!!

how do i revert back to 1406? ez flash just says its older and wont use it.

before you flashed you did reset the cmos didn't you, aswel as after?

not before, but it set everything to default... when i re-entered, things didnt work, reset to default and tried again...

its fine on default, but my OC settings and others i try just wont boot

did you save the old bios before you flashed the new one ?

indeed, in the profiles section two different ones. a simple OC and my 4ghz clock, neither worked

Carefull using asus update. It's known to kill motherboards.

NOOOO dont use asus update!!!! download a older bios from the asus website and flash

I'm using 1702 and it's clocking great...your problem is that you loaded a profile from an older bios. Never do this. Set to default settings and enter all the settings fresh.

i have tried from scratch, no different

I'm using modded 1702 and works brilliantly. And just managed 3.4GHz on Q6600 on air today

i dont get it then. i tried the modded too. doesnt boot into windows when using the same settings as 1406 (manually set not oc profile) just bsod when windows loading logo comes up...

Hm... are you sure you load the right BIOS for your mobo? As mine working fine here with modded one

i got it back using asus update old version, 1406 works fine again.

may try the modded one tomorrow

reset cmos before you flash dude, and again after! then start the oc again

it cant be because of that because 1406 worked fine. exactly the same way..

i did reset anyway.

unless you mean pushing th ebutton on the board?
