Hi

Since a bit of a break over Christmas I've switched from a 4 day split to a routine involving the three big lifts every other day and running 30 minutes every day (interval).

I'm doing 3x8 with sufficient rest for a 4th set with slightly more weight. Currently for each set I do reps at...

Bench - 70kg
Squat - 90kg
Deadlift - 120kg

I'm 15 stone 9lbs and was originally 19stone back in May 2008. I'm looking to lose more fat and obviously pack on more muscle. I find this routine convenient as the 4 day split which also included a lot of non compound exercises was very lengthy and was too demanding.

I'm expecting quite a lot of criticism hence the reason for this post so I'm open to advice. Also, I eat 3 times a day, healthily and with a decent mix of fruit and veg. Rarely have take out, heavily processed foods and high sugar snacks. Would I benefit from protein/fat loss supplements.

Cheers.

forget fat loss ones for a start.
No one can comment really as you haven't posted your routine or your diet :)

dont protein supplements (whey protein) contain a lot of calories too, so wouldn't that be detremental to weight loss?

no but if you eat more protein than your body needs then your body turns the protein into fat.
still useful if your only eating healthy foods and just need the supplement for your main protein because you dont eat meat for some reason.
