i got a palit hd4850, great card and no regrets here. the only thing is it wont overclock at all but im not bothered!. i have never heard any bad things about palit cards.

Palit own Gainward and Xpertvision I think. In America they use the name Palit while for Europe it would be either Gainward and Xpertvision. For example the Gainward Golden Sample 4870 is just a renamed Palit 4870 Sonic Edition if I'm not mistaken.

Palit is a well known brand although I've read in the past the fans on some of their lines are set to 100% and can get noisy. However, not sure which ones they were.
Overall, a respectble make.

my local hardware store has very cheap graphics cards made by palit. the 4850 is only £110 ish. I thought they would be rubbish but I might get one now.

They might all be based on a similar board design, and the manufacturers might buy the same chipset off ATi or NVidia, but the actual quality of build depends entirely on the company. They make their own boards and QC checks might be worse for cheaper made cards too. So no, they are not the 'same'.

Palit seem to be good, the 4870x2 is very wide and takes 3 slots from what i hear, probably has better cooling but you lose a slot. Never had a Palit but had many other makes and honestly can't say I have found any to be that superior in terms of build. Anyway the brands that are stocked at OCuK seem to be all good, although I wouldn't go for the value ones ;)

there aren't many big differences between same card models except OC versions, warranty, and bundled software and connectors

i had bad experience with PALIT!

had GTX260 216 SPP, uh, it was noisy, plus huge SQUEALING sound even on older games, on newer such as COD4, Crysis, etc. it was like (P&$%&*)

After read few poor reviews too...

but, as it says, in any Brand might be faulty products
