All i want is the software for connecting my EOS 10D to my PC using a USB cable.

As you know, the EOS 10D has a small internal memory, thus a card reader would not be useful for accessing it. I've installed the TWAIN and WIA drivers (although Canon's site forced me to spend 45 minutes trying to find them).

Now i'm assuming i need EOS Viewer Utility, Or Eos File Viewer or whatever the hell they've named it now (seeing as they rename the sodding program every update)... however the only thing they've released on their shoddy, ****-poor website is the Updater for the afforementioned software and not the software itself.

Does anyone of more intelligence and patience than me have any idea where i can download, quite simply, the software i need to access my camera? Not the updates, just the actual software itself.

thanks.

The software bundled with the camera is not free. When my CD was stolen (it was inside a laptop that was pinched), I searched the canon web site for a suitable number, phoned them up and they put me in touch with a dealer that sells Canon spare parts. The "CD and manual for a 5D" spare part cost me something like 12 quid.

I have lost the name of the "spare part" dealer. If you find it out, could you kindly remind me?

Oh it's not free?

Hmmm i had it set up on my old XP machine since i've only recently had a card reader!
Huh. Oh well, i'll just buy it then. I'll let you know what i find.

And Pink, no it doesn't. 10D is pretty ancient to be honest, it likes to make everything difficult ;)

Phate: i have something for you ;)
