Any thoughts on this Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo

It worked fine on my 4870.

With the fan lead connected to the one on the PCB that the stock one is plugged into then temps were comparable but it was silent.

At 7V it was whisper quiet but temps never went over 50.

At 12V it was a little whiny but temps stayed at about 40-45.

This was with an OC of 800/1000.

I just wish it were compatible with my 280 and not sat in a box under my bed.

DHL site is reporting that it will be with me at work today. :)

Spent last evening removing the stock heatsink from my 8800gt, and removing the large amounts of thermal goop and the thermal pads.

Brought it to work with me this morning, so when it arrives, I can fit the heatsink. (Wednesdays are normally quiet ;))

Took pics along the way, so if all goes well, I will post a review with pics and a temperature comparison against the stock cooler.

Well have my new AC cooler and it looks great, very light against stock cooler.
I have not put into motherboard as yet, The sticky pads/tape that comes with the memory and VDDC coolers is crap, I just don`t feel confident that they will stay on when card gets to operating temp.

Also i had to bend down a heat pipe that was going to hit one of the memory coolers but that was easy to do.
I have a feeling that i might do what Sharpygsxr did, and put on the stock cooler red base plate back on with the new Accelero twin turbo.

Well i am now going to fit it into my computer now so will post back a bit later

WISH ME LUCK ;)

You shouldn't have bent the heat pipe. Best thing to do is ofset the memory heatsink or cut the heatsink so the heat pipe fits.

When i say bent it, it was a small movement that did not kink the pipe in any way.

But what a wast of time this has been, put on new cooler and my temps are threw the roof 80+ /c i have even tried the red base plate from stock cooler which did bring down VDDC temps but overall was just too hot.
So i have put back on my stock cooler with some thermal grease and at first all seemed OK lower temps then i had before but now seems to freeze the computer in call of duty 5.

Also when i put the new cooler back in machine and went to put on the crossfire links back on, the cooper cooling pipes that stick out of the top got in the way and where cutting into the links ?? and those pipes got very hot so i was worried it might melt the links.

I have followed all the instructions by the book and I am used to working with stuff like this, the cooper on the stock cooler is much better allot more cooper so mechanically seems better engineered.

Wish i never did this now:-(

Have it on my 4870 1GB. Pretty much inaudible over anything else in my rig even while gaming and the temps are very good. luckily I got the power colour model which has small heat sinks on the chips which helps keep them cool as the ones with this CAN fit but sometimes requires modding.

Everyone with a 4870 crossfire or single could you tell me what max temps you guys get.

My primary core is reaching 89-92 /c in furmark, my computer has started to freeze when playing COD5 which has never done before i have monitored my temps and northbridge was showing 90 /c OUCH NB voltage was showing 1.67v so i have turnde down to 1.35v now NB temps showing around 60-70 under load I have not played a game yet will tonight.
