FFVII PS3 coming out April

Not to sound like a dyke, but any true FFVII or FF fan overall should already know that a remake won't happen for a long time. With how long it is taking Square-Enix to develop FFFXIII, not to mention multiple spin-off games, other IP's and remastering the Advent Children movie, do you really expect them to have enough time and resources to dedicated to a FFVII remake? Sure maybe it could have been an announcement, but then you would have to add in another 5 years or so and thats when it will be probably be released. Again look at how long FFXIII and even previously, FFXII, were in the making.
 
SE have never denied rumors of them eventually remaking FFVII, as order says its a gold mine. There's also the fact that Square have openly announced that they're 'not finished' with the FFVII series of games, they had 'one more big project' left. You have to consider that in order to make FFXIII and FFXII they had to build a complete engine as well as the game, square have thought ahead on this one and made a versatile engine for their future final fantasy games in this generation; crystal tools. The result of this is they can much more quickly churn out final fantasy games.

After the completion of FFXIIIVS i predict they'll begin a remake of FFVII for all platforms.

SE have never denied it point blank. They have merely said that they would want the orginal team to work on a remake "if" it was to happen and currently the orginal team members are on other projects.

End of the day they are still making FFXIII obviously they are going to want to finish it off. Once that has been done and release what's next to come ? no one knows really. Or well I don't :p

Again as steeteh said they have not finished the FFVII Series yet.... So lets wait and see. Tbh I dont think anyone here would mind waiting for a remake of FFVII. I think what majority of the people would like is clarity that they are indeed making it or not.

So SE have not confirmed nor denied it. Which is well :angry:
 
Well when you look at Crisis Core or Dirge of Cerberus where it introduced some new characters into the story, especially "G" (Gackt), they've pretty much left it open to expand the FFVII series if they wanted to.

Honestly I do feel like they are milking the series for what it is worth, but then with Square-Enix's heavy emphasis on producing remakes from their past games, I guess its not so surprising. Once they do finally decide on a FFVII remake down the line, it would be interesting for them to fit in pieces to make connections to the other games in the series as they were obviously never mentioned before, otherwise you will have plot holes.

I do want more games to do with the Ivalice Alliance though since the world created by Matsuno in that is huge and there is still much to be explored in that. Just like Tolkien has Middle-Earth, Matsuno has Ivalice. I just love made-up fantasy worlds with long intricate backstories and histories.
 
I personally really dislike every FFVII spinoff, hardly anyone from the original team is involved anymore. It has the same characters and settings but other than that it doesn't feel the same at all, the heart is gone from FFVII.

XIII on the other hand is looking amazing so far, I hope they manage to pull it off.

On another note I must have the XIII demo but I can't afford £420 + shipping + taxes for the PS3 bundle so I've paid £70 for the blu-ray disk and demo alone!

Absolutely not! Final Fantasy 7 is a complete story... Advent Children tried to drag it out and failed. If anything new locations and extra quests along the main story would be better IMO :).

Whilst I did enjoy it, Advent Children was just a great technological fan-service action piece and nothing more.

It would be interesting to know what the FFVII world is like during RedXIII's time in the 500 years or so afterwards.

I will say it again...... it is just a PS3 with a FF advent Children wolf sticker on it.

It really isnt work the price tbh.
 
Want. Shame it's JP exclusive, that would make me buy a PS3. I don't like the shiney console, I'd rather a matte black one, add to that FFVII and it's awesome.
