Pointless thread but this is the best ive ever seen by miles in this car.

I had a little trip to Christchurch today. I finished very early, it was sunny, so i had a slow cruise back, cruise control all the way set to 70mph, standard M27/M3/A34 route, i pulled in at Didcot and flicked through the computer to be greeted by these OMG figures for economy. Utterly amazed, it really shows just how much fuel air resistance takes to overcome.

Yes, nearly THIRTY mpg. In contrast i usually drive at between 90-100 and achieve an average of about 22-23mpg doing so.

Total eye opener & noticeable with how much fuel i (don't) seem to have used. Other gadgets were all switched on, so it wasn't as if i was doing a Clarkson style run.

Im sure the diesel boys will be along soon to totally trump me, but i am damn impressed from a 10 year old 4.3 auto loaded to around 2 tons. :)

I can get almost 30mpg from the Fiat whilst doing 85ish on the dual carriageway and not exactly hanging around on B roads. 90-95 mph on the A roads and trying hard on the B's takes that down to 26-27 mpg. For a 10 year old 220bhp turbocharged engine I am most impressed by it's relative frugality.

Bettering 30mpg by any significant margin is very difficult though, even with really gentle driving.

From Exeter to the A1(M) in North Yorkshire. Cruise set to 70mph except for the M42 where the variable speed limit kept me to 50mph.

Managed 300 miles to 40-45l of fuel once, and It wasn't a calm drive all the way either. I get 200 or so daily (non motorway but NSL roads mainly)

Don't think my car was run in properly :(

22mpg in a little civic?

About 22mpg on the RS4 is its best though I did see close to 30mpg from the GT3 heading down to Monaco....well until I got into the mountains when it went into single figures all of a sudden :D

41ish mpg in my MR2 Turbo, although thinking about it back in the day my Fiesta did better (50ish mpg on a trip to Hull and back) but never really paid much attention.

Woah, thats the best figure yet

As I have said before and as Tiffany Needle showed on 5th Bilge the other week, when on a motorway tour the 911 offers incredible fuel consumption when you consider the power available, the GT3 was no exception either. Better fuel consumption on a steady tour than my RS4, M3's and Griff.

I hardly ever reset my trip comp but the best I have had from it is 34mpg over approx 100 miles. Cruising at about 65 most of the way.

Is there anything which the 911 doesnt do spectacularly? Love it. Are your experiences with AWD models (C4 Specifically) similar?
