hiya chaps just wanted a quick check before i replace my now dying dell2005fpw.

spec of pc is..

c2d 4300 @ 3ghz, 4gb ocz 6400 ddr2, hd4850 512mb @ 690 core, 1123 mem, audigy2, corsair 520w

play cs:s, race07, cod4 and cod waw

looking at a 24-28inch 1920x1200 just not sure of the card will be more than capable at that resolution, currently at 1680x1050 and all sweet as

thanks in advance

well I aint overly bothered by eye candy etc (dont use AA/AF generally) so smooth really, 40-60 I guess, as the games aint cutting edge i sort of guess they will run fine but just wanted reassurance before spending money :)

why not sell your 4850 on MM and buy a 2nd hand 4870 or trade your card and some cash for one if you want a 4870

cos i just got the 4850 off MM and cos i am forced to buy a new monitor regardless means i cant afford gfx aswell

will just have to see how the 4850 does and save for a replacement in 4-6 months time lol

Got a 4850 here play L4D @ 1600x1200 with 8xAA +8AF with everything on high heer and get 45fps when busy and 80+ normal.

Grid is another matter unless i bring down the AA AF.

the 4850 will be fine for now,my 3870 copes with Grid maxed out with AA at 1900x1200.

Also L4D maxed with 2xAA.

Latest game was fallout 3 which also runs fine at max settings. (I have no figures for framerates but all are easily playable)

that will do for me, cheers fella and everyone else, appreciate it

just need to source funds... as always lol

A 4850 will still be fine for 1920x1200 gaming, it just depends on what graphics settings, AA/FF you use to determine your own personal view of a smooth gaming experience.

I use the 4830 and play at 1920x1200 and it copes well with the games I play. I don't really need to bother with AA/AF so it has that little extra headroom for a few more fps.
