College EMA Bonus

EMA is rubbish... the government need to stick i up there bum or give it to the parents of the kids.

My mum n dad were on £20,000 a year between and i couldnt have it coz the year before they were on £35,000 but my mum got made redundent.

However my mates mum n dad were self employed but got £50k + a year between them......

but didnt tell EMA that and he got £30 a week! and all them bonuses.... JOKE!

erm... parrents should afford trainers for them then :D i would work my self at the days i have off.. i need to go only 3 days a week to college but i cant find any decend job which would keep more than a month :rolleyes:

Do you not think the people defending it are the people that use it wisely? For instance, I got EMA, but don't smoke. So I just chucked your assumption out the window.

The government or benefits people or whoever do random checks I am sure.
If you get caught then it is fraud, simple as!

A friend of mine whos dad has his own business, his mum worked full time (parents together still) and rented out 3 or 4 other houses and he got 20quid EMA. Now I think somebody hasn't been truthful about his earnings!

EDIT: For the record he spent his bonus one time on a very loud chavvy backbox for a 1.4 litre xsara:(

Mate of mine down the pub has a son who's friend is in a similar situation but not ema it's something else, but his dad is self-employed but works away in China or somewhere, and apparantly shows up on the system as he earns nothing in this country, so he is qualified for the full amount. When in reality his dad is raking in about £70k a year. Pure greed.

Apparantly he did get rumbled once but he fiddled out of it again by showing the inspectors his tax returns or something, and managed to get away with it again.

Yep, just spent last weeks on a couple of slugs and a pack of cigarettes :rolleyes:

I've never smoked weed or cigarettes in my life, I spend the money on necessities and my hobby. Not everyone that goes to college is a weed smoking hippy/tramp/druggy.

All the drug taking stereo typical trampy students were off my course within the first few weeks ;)

lol true.. it's hard to find a "student" smoking weed and @#@# in here cos it's a nerdish forum :) but there's a lot of them in the college not that i smoke.. i just drink a lot before holidays or half term :) it's xmas for me :O

Yep, I knew a few of them. Thankfully they're gone now :)

And if not taking drugs and smoking is 'nerdish' then I'm glad I am.:)

craig it's a lie ema bonus is still 100quid my other mate just got 240 out of nowhere today in his bank account :) im sure they pay late.. i've heard that there's some problems atm with their system so payments will be late.. bah :(

EMA is a crap idea to be giving to these weed smoking stereo typical students. However, EMA can now be refused by the teacher signing it even if you have 100% attendance, so not many of them get it anymore ;)

Who says you need signature forgery. Being friends with the teachers and treating them like people goes a long way ;)

I used to get EMA in my first year of college,
all I spent it on and everyone else I knew who received it was fags, booze and clothes,
No-one not even the A students spent it on books etc,
Waste of tax payers money

BTW; of course it was a joke or I would be calling myself that
