Just bought PES 6 - Online actually works and is AMAZING

Got fed up with both online and offline play in PES 2009.

The online play is SUPERB and even the offline game feels more refined in my opinion.

Sure does not look as good (Even when patched) but in no way looks bad however in my opinion plays a much better game of footy to my liking.

Anyone else still playing PES 6 then?
 
Not doing any online PES atm, but yea, PES6 online is the best of the lot.

Have to disagree about PES6 being better offline, i'd say 2009 is the best for that so far.

have to say, i'm surprised that online still works, thought they'd have taken down the servers for it by now
 
Well, my joy was short lived, Konami are closing the PES 6 servers on the 02/02/2009 :(

Morons. The only game in the franchise left with playable online and they decided to close it down without fixing the online issues of PES 2009.

So long PES 6, you will be missed.
 
I was about to post that servers will be shutting down soon but it looks like you've found out already :P

PES6 is a great game. Probably one of the best in the series.

There's no official word yet but rumour has it that the PES6 servers close on 02/02/2009. Konami will give official confirmation when they know the date, until then it's mostly guessing.

It is OFFICIAL and Konami HAVE ALLREADY given the exact date, no guessing about it.

When you logon to the Servers, an alert pops up informing you of the news. I'd call that Official.

I dont have a 360 myself although my understanding is that the matchmaking servers on LIVE are ran by Microsoft for simple P2P games like this are they not? In which case I see no reason for it to discontinue other than sheer spite from Konami.
