Saw my first live game in canada last week and my God was it fast and furious. Incredible speed and dexterity from the players. Plenty of fighting too. Best bit was all the crowd were drinking but laughing and joking with the other team's supporters. Brilliant :)

Anyone else seen a live game?

Yeah I've seen a few games live in Canada. The atmosphere is awesome (especially when a fight breaks out)

They have advert breaks too when the screens in the arena start showing them lol then the players come back out :p

Spie are you being extremely friendly/chatty tonight or is something fishy going on?

Maybe I'm being superstitious?

Ice Hockey is great fun! I was a figure skater for years, so used to spend a huge amount of time at my local ice rinks. I think I saw my first hockey match when I was 7, it made me want to learn to skate.
I wanted to see the Maple Leafs when I was in Toronto a couple of years ago, but there were no games while I was there :(.

I like the look of ice hockey, but I suspect the only place to see it in all it's glory is over in Canada. I imagine any UK equivalent would be comparatively tame.

Crikey, just over 10K posts. You can change to the caporegime avatar now Spie! :D

i go to Raleigh NC quite a lot and the local team won the stanley cup a few years back. They keep promising to take me but not pulled through yet :(

Love ice hockey (Calgary fan) even imported a calgary top and jacket as I couldn't afford to go over and watch it live! Cost a bloomin fortune in tax..

Anyway, honeymooning in Canada and the states later this year, wench has promised that we'll go to a game. Dream come true! oh yeah and the wedding etc stuff is ok I guess :p

Never seen it live but would Love to, I've stayed up late though to catch highlights on the box, Gloves off & Lets have it :D

Ice Hockey is a great game, unfortunately you guys don't have much of a Ice Hockey culture over here.. its all mostly about football! Then again, I mostly only follow International games, since Sweden is among the best countries when it comes to this game! :D

I used to be an avid supporter of the Coventry Blaze ice hockey team. Nothing like a bit of furious ice action in a sunday night :D
The uk teams haven't got anywhere near the cash or resources of the international teams but they're just as much fun to watch

indeed, i watch the fife flyers every saturday. can't beat it.

If you like ice hockey and don't got see one of the local teams if you have any you deserve to be shot. they need the money and fans bad.

Saw a Toronto Blue Jays Blues game about ten years ago when I last visited Canada 10 years ago. Basically it was wrestling on ice skates. The crowd just got pumped when the fists started flying. Great to see once, probably would get bored of seeing the same thing week in week out.
