The Unofficial Fallout 3 Thread

Thats what I liked about it though, it did not take too long to get the hang of the game as it is similar to Oblivion. Like Oblivion, they have the atmosphere absolutely spot on, like when you can here something scratching about, you're low on ammo and out of stimpaks and slightly bricking the next door or corner.. :D

Still loving this, just repaired GNR dish. Have a few other things to do aswell.

I've never played oblivion, is it more of the same or really fantasy-orientated? I'm not much of a fan of fantasy stuff.

Not fantasy per se, more medievil with magic and the like...

The game model is very similar, with the keys doing almost the same things (apart from VATS of course ;))

It is an exceptional game, probably the best of the last 5 years and of this generation imho, I have played it through twice already and will probably go through a third time to do things differently.

Remember this though, the story in Oblivion is huge, and the game area is far bigger than F3... expect 80 hours out of it on your first run through

im having fun with the power fist at the moment, just going round punching random npc's heads off is great fun. i don't know why lol. i might get back to the game after sidetracking having a little fun :p

Just completed the game and didn't make or learn how to make a single weapon!

Pleased I saved before the last mission as it seems to be a lot to discover still :)

Just completed the game

me too!! Enjoyed that last quest, loads left to explore from my pre-last quest save. There really should be a new game plus feature with the option to start from scratch with your found locations & bobbleheads, or play as a new character in the events after the end, call the character 'survivor 102' or something and add the option to spawn a load of behemoths (mini quests) or whatever. Anywho, I really enjoyed life in Megaton :)

stealing independance

Anyone know where the hell sydney is?,, ive searched all over the archives for her, and finished the quest, i did read she should be in the circular room with all the mines in it, but no sign of her??

Nearly finished this - think am about 50 hours in, reminds me a bit of Deus Ex. I wish I had completed 'The Power of the Atom' much earlier (by disarming it - did it around level 16-18 I think) for the awesome reward - made a huge difference to the game for me :)

I took a slightly different approach to that quest... beautiful, the highlight of the game for me :D Now that certainly had an impact on my Karma.

I had that problem, went into the archives, saw her, helped her kill the bad guys, then she was gone... I thought she may of died, but I couldn't find her anywhere...

Sydney has a tendancy to kill herself on the mines she uses as traps unfortunately. Thats how she met her bitter end in my game. (Although I consoled myself by stealing her special SMG ;))

Are you sure you didn't have any schematics in your inventory? You don't "learn" how to make them so much as hold a piece of paper which allows you to make them as long as you are holding it.

I haven't made anything but Bottlecap mines tbh, I always get over encumbered, meaning I simply can't gather the parts :(

I had this problem quite a lot until I got my own place - just used to store all my excess items, weapons & armour in the cabinets etc and there was a handy workbench for making items, even bought my own Nuka-Cola machine :D Game became so much more playable then :)

Thanks for the tip. I got a place in Tenpenny tower, but last time I went there I killed Mr Tenpenny and have a feeling they all hate me :p

For some reason though, I thought even from my own home people might break in and steal things so never leave anything there. Now I know I'll use that tip instead of dumping everything on my follower :D Worst mistake so far was asking him to hold on to a FatMan for me

Started playing this again and just got into Vault 87.

Finding navigation hard though.

The slavers camp was fun. I gained entry because I was soooo evil, then, whilst inside the base, I destroyed them. :p

I completed it for the second time on Friday. Run through all the side missions I missed the first time through. Ended up spending 47 hours playing it my second time. It's an immense game.

Roll on Operation Anchorage tomorrow! :D
