UK Recession: Gordon Brown admits he failed to see economic crisis coming

Perhaps it was standing in front of his wooden eye, that's why he didn't see it coming.

Still, let's remember folks this is a global problem that started in America, and we are best placed to to withstand these turbulent economic problems (which started in America) thanks to our world-saving leader doing his best for hard working families and businesses.

I wish when he speaks he speaks with courage and belief, he just sounds like some moron who has no idea what hes doing and is just about to drop a big load out of his back passage.

I see gold has hit an all time high in pounds today - over £650 per ounce. Shame gordy sold most of ours off at £200

He would have got more but he announced that he was going to sell off our reserves so gold prices dropped. 'Iron chancellor' my ****; the guy's an incompetent fool.

And now he's thrown our money at the bankers to write off their crap loans in the hope they'll do what he wants and lend to businesses and home owners rather than use the money buying out other banks and becoming greater monopolies.

greater monopolies love it, but this is whats happening to all industry, so much for free market forces at play hoping to have a perfect competition.

But he said that the unique circumstances of the financial crisis made this situation completely different to any other recession, because it was not driven by high inflation and wages.
and thats is why its going to be a lot worse you fool.

He is only human, he still has to go a long way to become more hated than Thatcher, closed the mines etc. , think of the people that would be employed in this country from coal mining.

Should have gone to specsavers.
classic....:D
Seriously though. remember this was the chancellor who decided to penalise pension funds, when everyone knew there was an aging population. If he had left well alone, then the retired folk would be better off and probably spending more... and therefore helping the ecomony.
This lot have basically done us all in for the next 2 generations...
