Two from today

Managed to borrow the camera today, and a tripod! This was the first time I used a tripod. Anyway, I tried out two different styles of PP on these, what do you think? I feel they may be a bit OTT. Number 2 is two portrait photos stitched together.

( I woudl clone out the light trails on the left hand side of #2 though)

#1 for me, without the heinous border. 1 is much more lively than 2.

Nice, but I preferred your older shots of this scene and I think you have over done the processing, especially in the skies and they need white balancing. Good shots still though

I think you need to choose which bit is going to be your subject as well, the composition is telling me that the buildings in the distance are, but they seem totally overpowered by the sky and water.

Didn't notice that when I was taking it, must have been a boat or something

Should have seen me... never walked so fast in my life, managed to get there with some light in the sky still

Yep the buildings are the subject, but I agree they are swamped by the water and sky

i would probably try sharpening the buildings ...especially on the far left...looks slightly blurred with the clouds and water

I usually sharpen my images a bit, but I think because I was using the tripod, I didn't occur to me as much. I can see what you mean though

the first one is the best for me, great picture. maybe a tad over processed but if thats the look you were going for its come out well.

In general it's always best to sharpen images when you resize them because resizing makes images softer.

Goog pics chap, reminds me of home

#1 is better for me, the lighter rocks in the foreground add a little more interest. The sea still has a bit of texture in it where as #2 looks a little too glassy.
