Lian Li PC-B71 and B70

got some new pci tooless retention system, looks sturdier than those cheap plastic ones from other manufacturers
Yeah, looks like system which is quaranteed to last unlike plastic toys.
Also this won't hinder installation of dual slot graphic cards in any way unlike many of them.
Too bad it just prevents use of BS-03/06 coolers which don't consume slots like other PCI slot coolers.

A new lian Full Tower that does not have a front door.
If noise is factor these are worser than older.
Metal tray itself is enough to act as loudspeaker beside covering drive from airflow.
But otherwise really good updates of old working basic design.

i don't know that is just a guess, but I read an article on US website that said they should go for about $300, although that wasn't the official SRP

my worry is the price, i think these may fetch as high as £250. hope i am dead wrong
Probably good estimate for B71 considering its front accessible HDD hotswap bays. Just look at price of A7x10 which has SATA hotswap backplanes.
Also full metal construction toolless PCI card retention system is also price rising factor over older cases of same basic design. (and metallic trays of HDDs in B70)
Probably they'll make good old A70/71 look still more like freebies.

Cooling wise it's actually really hard to say how much there's difference between original and these: While 140mm fan can have still higher airflow despite of lower RPM than 120mm fan pressure what it's capable to generating (static pressure in specs) is at the same time lot lower and now there's no second fan to help to overcome effect of HDD cages.

Anyone have an idea when these will be for sale in the UK? Currently got these on my shortlist:

  • PC-A71B
  • PC-A7010B
  • PC-A7110B
  • PC-B71

Nice looking, but already have a A70B with a HotSwap Hard Drive bay in the 5.25" bays.

Tbh, I cant ever see me changing my case. My A70 is just too awesome :D
