Im due to have my car on the road in a week or two, had all the damage sorted out by a friends brother who has done it very very cheep and is even taking it to his garage to MOT it today for me.

Well, im wanting a sub for it, people have a said a big no no on this subject but i dont want crappy punto sound in my car, even a very cheep sub will suffice, just anything to make it sound better than it does now..

Any ideas?

Cheers,

James.

Wont be able to just plug it in, you will need an amp of some sort to power it and a line out feed from the stereo to power it, so you will need to get an amp sub and headunit as well as all the associated cables. Will probably sound rubbish too unless you put some nice components in the front doors too as well as some sound proofing to go with it. ie to do it properly will set you back a few quid.

Talking around 200-250 quid with FLi components I think

Possibly 300 if you need to upgrade headunit.

EDIT: Maybe not. FLi on eBay is cheaper than I thought.

Yeah, should be simple enough.

I would consider a boot build if your car is decent enough.

Then sell it on one of the chav motor sites. They pay over the odds if there's a fancy sound system or funky lighting.

It's CHEAP. Cheep is what birds do.

Does your Kenwood HU have pre-outs? You will need them to give signal to the amp.

The car was cheep, the car is crap, i just cant be bothered with crappy sound aswell.. a sub WILL make it better..Ill find out if the stereo has preouts when i speek to the mechanic tomorrow.

TBH, I wouldn't say those FLi parts will sound much better than standard but will pump out much more noise.

I would go with JVC parts if you want cheap but with some quality.

I know a sub will make it better. Where did I say it wouldn't

And it's cheap, not cheep.

JVC are good :p I have some JVC headphones that my sister broke for me :) (how nice)

They were awsome! The bass was unreal, and the sound quality was immense :D They were like DJ headphones.

What kind of prices am i looking at for JVC? I dont want much more expense but i am willing for decent sound.

Ha i know and i know. :)

That's not a bad little deal ^^

Do remember to check your head unit has pre outs though, because otherwise there isn't anything to plug the amp into. You don't need a mechanic to check it, just slide it out and look at the back.
