I think the owner just has more money than he knows what to do with.

Is it solid gold or the standard shell with a thin layer over the top?
 
When you have more money than air it would seem you have to find useless stuff to spend it on. Take a bobbins car (alright, I know its not bobbins but I never have liked the SLR) and wrap it in Ratners finest.
 
I coulda have guessed it would be in Dubai! Mall of the Emirates is the biggest shopping center in the Middle East (possibly even the world?).

It won't be solid gold, it'll be gold plate.

Even on a sunny day over here it'd cause nightmares. I'm sure there's a reason you never see reflective chrome-effect/gold/silver plated cars over here, and it's not just because they look crap.

Actually, that could be damned confusing at night as well.
 
Lol its a chromed slr, how is that not cool? sometimes i think you guys think more about practicality and cleaning problems than just cool factor! Things dont have to be nice to be cool!
 
I'm going to buck the trend and say I like it cause I do, there's no accounting for taste I suppose. The pics aren't very good TBH, good pics and I bet it looks stunning.
 
I'd have to see it in the flesh, but those pics don't really "do" it for me... then again I don't find that car nice to look at anyway.
