Hey Guys,

I have been searching the net for the best route. I am going to be spending a few weeks in Guildford which is in the county of Surrey and need to go back and forth to Oundle on some days. Oundle is 115 miles from Guildford. If you don't know already Oundle is up in Cambridgeshire. To get there I would need to take the m25, m1, a45, a46 and then the a605. I need to get to Oundle for about 8:30-9:00am. I have heard that in the morning with traffic I would take 3.5 hours. In the afternoon I could make it there in about 1.5-2 hours. So I wonder if you guys know of any shortcuts I could take to get there quicker in the morning?

I had looked into flying there but it would probably end up being too expensive. But if I wanted to do this I heard that Cambridge city airport is 107 miles and then it's 53 miles from Cambridge city airport to Oundle. Now that's not too bad, if anyone knows of any other airports closer to Oundle?

I have seen that a train would be too long at around 3.5 hours.

any help much appreciated

Many thanks in advance

Quite frankly, that part of the M25 and morning rush hour the easiest shortcut is go up Sunday and stay over night. Otherwise expect it to take a while.

Dvdbunny, do you have some form of mental impairment that doesn't allow you to use the internet like 99% of sane people?

hes not the only one who only seems to ask people to find things for him ;]

as for wanting a short cut during the monday morning traffic: forget it. anyone along the route who knows the short cuts will be taking them, meaning they wont actually be that much of a short cut :p
as advised, go up the night before.

if google shows to use the a1 then surely thats because it is the quickest way? as someone has suggested left click and hold the path google maps has given you then drag it to one you feel is better. it will try and work out another and then tell you the time/distance of that :)

congratulationson getting the book published :) i actually thought you would never get round to doing this so i'm very impressed dvdbunny

if anyone else is wanting to get a book published they should check out the facebook page in the signature ;)
