just bought 2 mmorpgs

Yeah, pretty much everything in WoW has been heavily borrowed from all the MMO's before it.. not that that's a bad thing imo. From raid encounters (Blizzard hired the top EQ guild leaders to design their raid events), crowd control, cooldown timers, racial abilities to tradeskills, fishing, dungeons etc. Even the terminology is borrowed.. ding, dkp, mobs, etc.

To Blizzard's credit they're very skilled at making it all come together cohesively. But they -are- standing on the shoulders of giants, no doubt about that. There's still lots and lots of ideas they've yet to borrow however. Armour dyes, mercenaries, dual classing, housing, kill trophies etc etc etc. Expect to see them in expansions.

Ive played a lot of mmo's and the ideas i saw in them were awesome and then suddenly WoW has them a few months later and "Claims" that other people stole it from them, WoW is great for kids and idiots and theres 11 million of them on it, its the only mmo ive played were ive been genuinly disgusted at the behaviour of the people on it.
For the rest of us we have EVE, LOTRO, AoC, WAR, Guild Wars etc etc.

Look on the bright side, it's like a giant muppet magnet - they're all in there instead of fouling up other mmo's :)

Warhammer isn't dying. Far from it. And I can't speak much for AoC, but I suspect it will be a long time before they close the servers there. I've no idea what made you come out with that.

AoC IS dying. They're talking server merges already, unfortunately it
A) Suffered a lot for a VERY poor initial release
B)Was missing promised features at launch
C) Performance was genuinely terrible for a lot of people with high end systems. It looked decent, but not to the level of its requirements.

I know a lot of people who tried it, then went back to WoW/EvE etc, it just didnt have anything like the longevity they do, and the grind was horrendous.

To be honest a first round of server mergers could mean nothing apart from the fact that they over estimated the number of subscribers they would attract, it's when they have another round of mergers before any extra content has been added that I'd be worried.

If I remember the plans, they're planning to shrink to about HALF the number of servers. Thats a pretty major shrink. A lot of the servers at the moment are very empty.

It's pretty extreme to buy two MMO's like that, do you even have a job lol. You're going to be spending all your time grinding like crazy before any of it becomes even mildly entertaining I suspect.

What exactly do you mean by outdated, as in his PC is cra$ or the games will run smooth ?
As his PC is clearly not outdated

I'm sure it's a sarcastic comment due to the stupidity of asking if your GTX280 will be able to run games that have been out for 6 months or so.

stupidity? i said a few posts back that i know i can run the game, i was asking how well it would run

Still doesn't mean it's dying, just that they only managed to get around half of the subscriptions they forcast.

oh no, with that pc you'd be barely able to run diablo II

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Don't know why people ask stupid questions when they blatently know they have a good pc

HAI GUIZ IVE OVERCLOCKED MY i7 965 Extreme Edition to 4.2ghz WITH LIQUID NITROGEN AND HAVE QUAD SLI GTX 295 with 16B OF RAM, WILL I BE ABLE TO RUN COUNTERSTRIKE AT SOLID 100 FPS?!?

where exactly did i ask if i could run it? i simply asked how well it would run
games like the witcher are over a year old but still chug a bit when i play at maximum settings

my advice to you and anyone else who has something ridiculous to say is read the topic before you post

how about install the game and find out how it will run?

just seems silly that you've got 2 games, a good pc, and sit waiting for answers before trying it? Every rig is different, you might have a memory leak of some sort, or a clashing driver situation, how would we know without any more input? Have you tried the games yet?

So far its: "it'll run fine you have a top end pc." which will in turn make people be sarcastic because it's obvious it will run fine
or: "come back with questions about why the game doesn't run if it doesn't"

but then again you have got 2 games that everyone I know that played has left.

now this is a sensible reply, altho the reason i asked was because conan was a impulse buy when i saw it was only a tenner & as i bought them both online i had to wait a couple of days for them to arrive

not only that but i wont be playing conan until my 30days are up with warhammer :)

fair enough. The first 20 levels of conan are good tbh. I managed to get to 45 ish, was great fun with all the other ocuk'ers :) Sadly, it started to dwindle. Im sure plenty of people can help if youve any issues though
