Is it possible that there's a piece of software or possibly a windows update patch on one machine but not the other? Being it works on one machine but not the other and they're, for all intents and purposes identical, you're probably in a very good position to get to the bottom of the issue.

They're both identical, with the same software on both, and I let Windows Update just run automatically on them (I shouldn't really, but hey its easier) so they should both be at the same stage in terms of updates. I know the drivers are the same, albeit about 2 months old, if I download them for one PC, I just doddle over to the other when I get a chance and do that one too.

ive just tried that fix see if it works for me as well! I get the nvlddmkm error on nvidia! making me a sad pirate!

I'll certainly give it a blast when i get home, but I've a feeling i tried to install that and it just says "This update does not apply to your system".
