GIGABYTE GA-73PVM-S2 Long Boot Time

I've just setup the following system

Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2 board
Intel E2140 1.6Ghz
4Gb DDR2 Kingston RAM
Antec 500w PSU
WD 500Gb SATA

I've installed Vista and loaded the latest NVIDIA chipset drivers, but everytime I reboot the system just before the windows logo the system will freeze for over a minute. I've also noticed that the keyboard will switch off during this time and there is no hard drive activity. I have the F3 bios loaded. Any ideas?

Update the BIOS?

Edit: I think there's a few options in the BIOS for the HDD (IDE/SATA/ACHI). Try messing around with that, though if it's already on SATA, switching to ACHI might give you a BSOD, and vice-versa.
