Semi serious topic...

Cars are expensive, I like to walk but it's quite slow, especially over longer distances, I want to get something that will help me from get from place to place faster than walking (running is not an option carrying a laptop and stuff).

Must be;
Cheap
Portable
faster than walking

Could I unicycle to work?

Pushbike, rioller skates, those kangaroo shoes.

TBH there's nothing really things liek segways would be brilliant for short trips to work. but they are illegal on roads/footpaths..
The government needs to change the laws so it's easier for small forms of transports.

A unicycle. I have one. It's great.

Cheap-ish and you can use it on stairs and one spot as well as moving, the only problem is it only goes a bit faster than you can run, if you're going fast, and has a steep learning curb, especially for jumping.
