Currently there are two dimm slots, and 2gbs spread over two modules, do you see a problem with buying an extra 2gb module and replacing one of the 1gb modules to create 3gb ram?

Will it not remove the effects of the dual channel? (i know nothing about macs just proper computers)

Normally RAM of different sizes doesn't run in dual channel if different sizes.

think most new chipsets will run ram in dual channel even when in different sizes

ive got a 2gb and a 512mb stick in this laptop and its supposedly running in dual channel
