Best Looking Console Game this gen.

Killzone 2 will be the best looking game until Heavy Rain comes out later in the year, this maybe surpassed by uncharted 2 or god of war 3, Its all pretty subjective though.

Coin toss between single player Resistance 2 (the coop has toned down graphics) and gears of war 2. Both very different styles so very difficult to name which is more impressive but both are damn pretty.

I don't understand how a lower framerate can make a game look more bland? Also jaggies aren't something associated with low framerate, that's a resolution issue.

For Consoles I'd have to say Fallout 3, I never knew the Draw distance was capable of reaching that far on the 360 and look so atmospheric as well.

I would say that Burnout Paradise was probably the best looking game. Uncharted was very good too but Killzone 2 looks awesome - let's hope it looks that good in reality.

Uncharted - PS3

Just by the look of the game, the character, when your walking through the jungle, a lot of detail has been put into the game.

Also

GOW2 - 360

Kameo without a doubt - an overlooked title as are most launch day titles. Shame because launch day titles like Kameo, PGR3 and Condemned have some of the best graphical engines behind them. Kameo's huge battle scene where thousands of pesky independantly controlled orcs are trampling around just goes to show how good it's engine is at harnessing the 360's power - without an ounce of slowdown.

Other then that I'd say Gears 2 comes close and I can see Fallout also being as close, even though I have the PC version.

eh? The human eye can't tell the difference between 35fps to 60fps.

Yes it can. Why do you think 30-60fps debates always come up so much. There is a huge difference and if you can't see it, you need your eyes checked and stop assuming your position for the rest of us. I can even tell the difference between 60 and 100 fps, thanks to many years of PC gaming.

As for my pick: Killzone 2 by far and away.

I agree that it is possible to tell the difference between 60 and 100fps, but not by eyesight. When you get to that point, visually there's no difference, but the way in which the game reacts to your input does vary to a surprising degree between those two. When a game runs at 100fps it responds much faster and the feel of the game is just better, but i very much doubt anyone could see the difference without actually interacting with it.

IMO obviously, after all it is possible you've had your eyes replaced with those of a chaffinch

Anyway, sorry, off topic. Can't wait to see Killzone 2 in the flesh, the amount you praise it it must be something special.

I like both assassins creed and Prince or persia. Both look great both show looks over substance.

The next assassins could be mega, I hope it keeps a similar setting.

Personally I think "best looking" is subjective to the person viewings tastes, and is more about style than perfect realism.

My top games:

On the hand helds -

Crysis Core (PSP)
Hotel Dusk (DS)

Consoles:

Assasins Creed
MGS4
Ace Combat 6 (So over looked!)
Valkyria Chronicles

lol ok.

Your second comment is the perfect response to your first. I can't believe you could be so naive about this =/

I can very easily tell the difference between 100 and 200 FPS, and so could anyone else.
