HL2 Episodes One and Two

Are HL2 Episodes One and/or Two any more interesting in terms of stuff to figure out than HL2 ?

Cheers

Stuff to figure out? You mean in the way of puzzles and stuff? There's a few here and there. If you enjoyed the story, atmosphere and gameplay of HL2, you'll enjoy Ep1 and 2.

i have EP2 but not EP1, EP1 seems a bit expensive for what it is but don't want to do EP2 without EP1. A bit of a catch 22 :D

By stating you don't have EP1 or EP2, that also means you haven't played Portal. Shame on you.
You're half right. I do have and have already played-thru Portal. I bought Portal separately and then got HL2 (Lost Coast included). In hindsight I should've gotten the Orange Box.

Now I'm considering the Episode Pack for later on which also includes Death Match.

I'm just at the end of the air boat part in HL2 and I'm not very stoked about it, so wondering if the Episodes are any different. But from what I gather it's roughly the same?

At least you didnt walk the whole way like that other guy did (never forget). :)
omg :D Thanks, gave me a needed laugh :)

The boat section did drag on a bit. I dont think ep1 or 2 have anything like that.
Yeah I guess I was more into it before the boat.

Well people seem to like the ep's. The Death Match sounds like fun too. I'll probably get them.

Cheers

Episodes are more of the same really, so you'll enjoy them the same as half life 2 really.

Though it does baffle me that you don't think it's amazing  I guess it is quite scripted, and if you don't get along with that..

I like the fact that in the additional Episodes (ep 2 mainly), you're not on your own most of the time, so it tends to mean there's more stuff happening and things are a bit more interesting.

yup, I agree, It helps to develop the story nicely whilst making you feel more a part of what goes on, rather than reacting to plotlines.

I might have to play them through again

I think the game is fantastic for what it is. The sounds and graphical touches really creates an atmosphere. And it's a great FPS.

I guess I was looking for something a bit different... not sure what exactly. But I like it enough to keep playing. Then after HL2 I'll see if I'm hungry for more.

BTW I finally reached the end of the boat part (turned out I was just a hop away before I posted about this). I liked the game play overall more before the boat, so looking forward to the next chapters.

Thanks all for the input.

loved hl2 but ep1 i just didnt find anywhere near as good.

its took me since the time of the orange box to about 3 months ago to complete ep1....and u know the game just isnt that long.

i played it through simply because it was part of hl2.....i havent started ep2 yet but im hoping when i do it will be one of those games that i dont want to stop playing.

re

half life 1,2 and episode 1 and 2 are probably one of if not the best single player fps experience that is available today...with great graphics and immersive story line and fantastic gameplay..they are probably unrivalled...anything from valve is usually good....just look at left for dead....cant wait for episode 3

Well said! Just going off topic slightly, Is L4D worth playing solo with the bots? I don't know enough other people with PC's to warrent buying it if not:(
