Those crazy Nigerians!

You can NEVER test either and come up with conclusive proof. This is an indisputable fact.

No amount of testing to prove an animal was previously a man/ woman would convince someone with the belief otherwise.

You still haven't answered my question as to how you would conclusively prove the goat has always been, and will always be a goat? From an intelligent and logical perspective, it is blindingly obvious that it just a goat. From a religious perspective there is no way to test this - full stop.

If you laugh at this story, you should laugh at other religions stories too. I'd like to laugh at it, but it just makes me feel sad that people in this day and age can follow such lunacy.

God or magical goat, there is absolutely NO difference. Both are equally absurd.

As you can test cells and dna and show that it is identical to any other goat. 100% proof no, but enough for a scientific conclusion. the same is not true for eh existence of a God or Gods. You are getting hung up on denominations. not the whole encompassing religion/God/Gods.

I laugh at people like you, who are so small minded you wont acknowledge there could be a God or Gods in the universe.

What does dna or skin cells prove to a religious person? Absolutely nothing! They have the belief that magic is involved. When you ascribe to such notions, logic is no longer a part of the process. How do you counter the arguement that the magician is so powerful that he can trick everyone into thinking he is a carbon copy of a goat? You cannot.

The magical goat is exactly the same as the illogical beliefs followed in Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Christianity, Mormonism, <insert illogical belief system here>.

I'm glad you laugh at me, specifically since I said you can never prove the existence or non-existence of a supernatural being. What I do firmly believe is that the probability of such a being existing is so small that it logically follows that such a thing does not exist. Can I prove it? No. Just as I can't prove that this goat is magical. Both are immpossible to prove, but logical not to have faith in.

I wish I could laugh at religious people, but I'm just extremely saddened that people cannot think logically. It saddens me that people are not capable of seeing their own hypocricy when they ridicule beliefs that do not match their own. I pity the wasted intelligence and brain cells devoted to keeping such archaic belief systems alive and kicking.

Man I lol'd when I saw this, should have changed into a bird he could escape easily at least :p
Do you know nothing about shapeshifting? The object has to have similar mass and chemistry in order to make the change. Therefore a 190 lb. man cannot change into a 5 oz. Swallow, nor can a 400 lb. alligator change into an 800 lb. bull. Sheesh.

Stop sprouting rubbish. Many religious people are scientists and logical thinkers.

Great comeback - how do you persuade people who believe in witchcraft that their belief is wrong?

You cannot.

You cannot pick and choose which absurdity is more logical and believable. I believe in a higher being that is shapped like a giant cow. Our planet is actually a flake of crap resting on the outer edge of its anus (also know as the milky way). Prove me wrong?

You cannot. However, I'm 100% certain you have enough intelligence to realise that this is not true.

With that in mind, why do you not have the intelligence to come to the same logical conclusion about other religious beliefs? Why do you pick and choose which ones to believe? "Oh magical goat, rubbish, but father giving birth to himself, dying and becoming a zombie - PERFECTLY LOGICAL!!! Earth resting on the back of a giant turtle - PERFECTLY LOGICAL"

Now back to your insightful comment, where is the rubbish being sprouted? Is it from the person who applies logic to a situation, or the person who believes that their god, out of the thousands of different gods that people have worshipped over the centuries?

of course you can't, but this isn't about that. Your trying to disprove all faiths as illogical and back dated which you can't.

well you can as some things we can prove, liek the planet is not resting ona turtle.

i don't believe in any religion, however I'm also not anti religion liek you are, perhaps you should let that hatred go..

I'm not trying to disprove them. I have specifically stated several times that you cannot disprove a religious persons belief, therefore you cannot disprove the belief that this goat is actually a shape-shifting magician. You need to learn to read an analyse text.

To add more to that, I am stating that logic follows that a magical goat is an absurdity. As a magical goat is no different than a magical god, the logic also follows that both theories are equally absurd. There can be no proof of either, yet logic provides a framework to see that they are both completely bat-**** insane things to believe in.

well you can as some things we can prove, liek the planet is not resting ona turtle.

Prove it - You cannot. You've just claimed the non-existence of the beliefs of one set of religious people (Onondaga tribe). You are making progress. Now apply that same logic to zombie jesus, Vishnu, Buddha (take your pick as to which Buddha), etc.

There is no hatred of the induvidual who chooses to believe in fairytales. There is much sadness at what such beliefs have done, and continue to do to the human race. This is not the thread to discuss that as it's a massive topic that could go on for periods just as long as the religiously-created dark ages that stopped and reduced the progress of mankind for over a thousand years.

Many religious people are logical and scientific. So try again..

There are religious scientists I agree. They are dwindling in number as the world becomes more accepting of the fact that non-belief in a supernatural being is not something to be burned at the stake for. One hundred years ago it could have been career suicide for a scientist to say their religion was completely illogical.

I think you'll find most of the world famous scientists held up as religious were not - That includes Einstein, Hawkings, Newton, Darwin, etc etc.

If science ever proved god didn't exist, I bet you would cry your eyes out :p

Science can never prove the non-existense of God. Hypothetically speaking, if it ever did, this would not matter to religious people. When you completely shun logic, you replace it with the ability to 'fill in the gaps' with utter nonsense. People will always find a way to believe in the old guy in the sky.

To quote the great Douglas Adams in Hitchikers Guide:

"Now it is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that anything so mind-bogglingly useful [the Babel fish] could have evolved by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as a final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God.
The argument goes something like this: "I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic."
(Douglas Adams / 1952-2001 / The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy)

I think the onus is on you to prove you're right. Otherwise anyone could make up any old random drivel and claim to be.. Oh wait :p

Just in case some folk don't see the humor in your post:
"The argument from design stands or falls on whether it can be demonstrated that some aspect of the universe such as its origin or biological life could not have come about naturally. The burden of proof is ... on the supernaturalist to demonstrate that something from outside nature must be introduced to explain the data."
(Vic Stenger, Particle physicist/ Has Science Found God? / 2001)
