Recomend some obscure stuff... (tv, film etc.)

An international HBO and BBC comedy series, which has won multiple comedy awards, and been on Conan and Letterman is so so so so so the worst way to start this thread off.

Well known :

Dexter

Not so well known :

The Lives of Others - a moving and brilliant film set in East Germany before the fall of the Wall

K Pax - ok, not everybody will like this film. It's with Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey but the mood, colours and especially the score make this one of my favourites.

Amelie isn't obscure.

Amélie won best film at the European Film Awards; it won four César Awards (including Best Film and Best Director), two BAFTA Awards (including Best Original Screenplay), and was nominated for five Academy Awards. (See below for other awards and recognition.)

Gross revenue
$173,921,954 (worldwide)

Jesus christ people, just because something is slightly different it doesn't make it obscure.

I recommend The Critic - an animated series from some of the main people behind The Simpsons. You may have seen the Simpsons episode where a film critic comes to Springfield for their film festival - he's the main character of The Critic and that was the tie-in episode to launch the series. If you like The Simpsons give it a try, it's very well done. It's not possible to buy it over here, I had to order it from Amazon US, but weirdly it plays in my region 2 player.

most people i know have never heard of this so it seems pretty obscure but you never know.

Garth Merenghi's Dark Place
