Hey Guys,

I'm looking for a good online FPS to try out if anyone can recommend any, I prefer things like CS:S & Halo but I am open to try something new as these have become stale over the last few years. So what do you guys think? Is there anything worth my time or should i be looking at future games rather then the current ones?

Thanks,

Is it really worth investing my money in to as after researching i have found out it is almost 4 years old, i would expect it to be old hat now just like CS:S and Halo.

L4D looks interesting with the Zombie idea but i don't think its exactly what i was looking for in a FPS but i wont rule it out just yet,

I've never tried TF:2 and it does look a good laugh, does it have a similar CS:S feel to it as gameplay videos would lead me to believe?

Thanks for the replies so far, the search continues....
M,

BF2 EASY, still best online FPS to this day.

But if you like CS:S and Halo, i think you would be better off with COD4

css halo cod4 = run and gun, 2 winks and rounds over

bf2 = team work

I'd say TF2 as well. You can play totally for fun, but it does have the clan side you can go into if you want. :)

Couldn't recommend it any more, and I came from CS:S to TF2 and have played CoD4, BF2 and still come back to TF2 as my favourite FPS.

Edit: Just make sure you play on good servers :)

Some get on with Americas Army, while there is a fair bit of flag waving, it is free.

But +1 for BF2, you get tanks :)
Yet I play COD4 all the time, but even that has its problems. Great at night, dreadful in the day, you just have to wait for the kids to go to bed.

Another vote for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. A bit of a steep learning curve (although I didn't really think so) but otherwise it's great. A pretty decent community exists as well.
