Aryan race in Brazil...

The real shame about the nazi's and the war is that the actual german scientists of the time WERE very clever and if the war had never happened its debatable wether some things would ever have been developed in the speed that they were. War is the mother of invention and all that.

Its just such a shame that those creative minds werent allowed to flourish in a non nazi atmosphere. Its probable that he would have been remembered as the first pioneer of atificial insemination and suchlike instead of a butchering nazi abomination. Would he have ever considered the things we remember him for if the nazi influence wasnt there, probably not, and thats the sad thing.

The codebreakers we had during the war at Bletchley park ( i think it was ) were lucky to be on the side of good, imagine if they had been germans, they would most likely have been doing the same job but for the nazi's and have developed much better german encryption etc.

His first inclinations of the work he spent his life doing were probably done through a desire to do good, and then was perverted by the nazi influence into the horrors we know he performed. Such a waste of a mind, and such horrors he ended up commiting. RIP to all those poor people he worked on.

EDIT

and I mean aryan sperm from candifates that was collected during the nazi era. is it possible the nazis were doing genetic engineering back in ww2 and before?

Wow, it just goes to show how successful the Nazis could have been if they'd managed to win the war.

Whilst I do agree that indoctrination and brainwashing goes a long way to attribute what the German people en masse did, to go to the lengths Mengele went he surely had to have a rather distorted view of things. Or maybe thats the definition of genius.

Sorry but why would the Nazis have been anymore technologically advanced today than we are? those scientists didn't inject themselves with stupid when the Nazis fell, the ones who hadn't commited some depraved crimes against humanity kept working.

It wasn't a total loss, a lot of them helped the americans in the race to the moon.

They weren't more technologically advanced then we are today.

They were ahead of their time because they pushed the boundaries, and performed experiments that no sane* person would. Some break throughs would either have never happened, or taken a lot longer to discover if they hadn't experimented on people in the way they did.

*Sanity is not a concept I'm trying to prove rational here. Insanity or Genius is a whole new discussion by itself.

After the fog it's turned into a beautiful crisp sunny day here near Heathrow. I'd hate to live in a hot country, even Munich was too hot for me in the summer!

I didn't say this... but previous posts in this thread were implying had they won that these scientists would have had us living in some crazy futurama world now. Even though the majority of the scientists kept working in their respective fields and we're in the same world now that we would have been, only minus the cool uniforms.

The Nazis were the first to build a jet engine, they were the first to build jet propelled bombs and planes and also the first to build a single wing plane - the inspiration for the modern day B2 Stealth Bomber. They were also the first to start developing nuclear technology and only failed to reach that goal before the americans as a result of Hitlers disasterous policy of attacking Russia and therefore spreading his forces too thin and losing the war in Europe when he did. Had he managed to hold out a couple more years and had the Japanese not attacked Pearl Harbour the end would have been drastically different.
