ok so i have £220 for an upgrade.

E7300 @ 3.8
9800GT
500gb Hitachi deskstar
OCZ ModXStream 400w
antec 300
2gb OCZ ram
EVGA 780I (longstory lol)
Vista ultimate 32bit

i was thinking a GTX 260?
ideas please

But i would say try Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550?

BFG is also available, but those are OC versions and more £

a evga 260 is very good and will be a significant upgrade from a 9800gt

At a push of a budget the 4870 would be better than the 4850 but that really depends on your resolution if you need it or not. If you are still using 1024x768 the 4850 will even run Far Cry 2 on highest settings.

400w PSU is a close call, depends on quality. personally I would think 500w is better and safer, you don't really want to stress a PSU even if it works

you can use ati on nforce board, you just can't run 2 in crossfire, although you can run dual gpu cards like 4870x2

And your 9800GT is struggling? I think you'd be better off buying a new monitor with your cash, then start saving for the inevitable psu and video card upgrade

hehe at that res you dont need a 260gtx really, upgrade to vista 64bit and get 4gb of ram

well it wont run fallout 3 on ultra with full AA lol but i just wanted an upgrade
