400D for £269....any good

you said your girlfriend would use it too and non-'proper' photographers (if she isn't) sometime prefur the liveview for taking photos.
 
Plus it must be another drain on the battery... The whole point of an SLR is the Penta-Prism giving you exactly what the lense is seeing!!...

I might get the 400D at lunch.. unless someone can give me a good reason why the 1000D is a better buy!...
