Ive got a Router thats been given to me, Its a Netgear DG834GT and ive just bought a Buffalo WLI-TX4-G54HP Wirless ethernet converter.

In both config screens there is the option for wireless mode.

On the netgear its set to 'Auto 108Mbps' and on the Buffalo its set to '*125 high speed mode'.

The netgear router is attached to my pc via an ethernet cable.

When i go into the Buffalo config screen and search for 'SSID' my netgear appears with the wirless mode shown as '(11g 54M)'

How (if possible) do i get it to show 108mbps or 125mbps ?

thanks

In short, it's likely it won't.

To get 108mb or 125mb you need both devices to support the same standard - iirc both of those speeds are acheived using the manufacturers own adjustments to the normal standards, and thus only work if you are using equipment all from the same range.
