hahahaha, lowest University Challenge score in 38 YEARS

The team that beat them from Corpus Christi Oxford were incredibly good, I'd be amazed if they don't win the series.
I may be a little cynical about this, but there were a heck of a lot of questions more suited to students with a classics based education.....
 
Considering they got through the 1st and 2nd round (and the qualifiers before that) I think they just had a combination of coming up against an incredibly good team in Corpus Christi, and having a bad day themselves/questions didn't go their way. They're obviously not stupid to get that far. :)
 
I can't say I've ever watched a full episode of University Challenge, but tend to catch the last few minutes if something good is on afterwards. I can't help but chuckle, the contestants just look so....abnormal!

Whats intelligence got to do with the fact that 905 of the contestants look like social rejects with poor standards of personal hygene and no interest in there appearence what so ever? I've know plenty of intelligent people who were non of the above also by pure conincidence most of them weren't long term accedemics, they lived and worked in the real world.

When you spend your days in front of a blackboard with a lot of chalk, you tend not to worry about your appearance. Especially if you take a male-dominated subject with no pretty girls to hit on.

Yes. I was a slob at uni. :D
