i am after a 24" monitor used for gaming [a lot] and hd movies [a little]

got around £250 budget

currently use a 22" samsung pebble but am after a bit more desktop space and a higher res for games

[one with an adjustable stand would be brilliant]

is the samsung the one to go for or would i be better off looking at another brand/model?

i was loonking at the Dell E248WFP
i have heard some Dells suffer from input lag
so im a bit confused...

It's the one I'll be buying in the near future, it seems to be well reviewed by the folks who own one on here anyway!

Only thing I dont like about the monitor is the poor vertical viewing angles but otherwise great

im used to poor angles from my current pebble model - a few of my ocuk colleagues have one and say that they are good all rounders - i think my mind is made up!

thanks guys

I bought this monitor Wednesday and it was delivered yesterday. I have too say, its fantastic for the price. Viewing angles are very good, as well as the image quality. Colors are spot on, and it is a lot brighter than any of my previous monitors.

High recommended it for the cheap price, you can't go wrong with it at all :).

Welcome to the club.

what about the 16:9 models coming out a lot of them are cheaper than their 16:10 counterparts, perhaps check some of them out if you dont mind the loss in desktop space

I received my 2443BW this morning, and it is massive! The quality is pretty good, and I have no issues with viewing angles. No problems with pixels either which is good :)

I had a 19" TFT before and this absolutely dwarfs it!

I posted a picture of it in the TFT setup thread, but I'll post it here as well:

why not T240?? similar panel, but with HDMI for your future needs :) and a lot better looking

The models ending with "HM" have HDMI too. The T2XX series are occasionally the more expensive and more for the glossy bling and TV side of things.

I personally have the SM-2693HM myself and it is a great monitor like the rest of the Samsungs are.

There's not much difference price wise between 24" and 26" do you think the 26" would be a good move or are the fonts in windows going to look a bit on the small side .. anyone?

Whats the difference between this one and the 2433BW? Is it just the shiny bezel thing?

Over here :)

If you think bigger is better, go for the 26" :) Although it is the same res as the 24" so you have bigger pixels instead of higher res.

Exact same route as i went, pebble to the 2443BW, the 2243BW a great monitor but is a lot deeper front to back due to the stand. Which may or maynot be an issue for some, it can be wall mounted due to the vesa fixings if necessary. Oh and you can rotate the screen into portrait mode too.

I can't recommend it enough great screen for the price imho.

Awsome. Cheers.

Think I'm going to go for the 43 as I prefer the thin bezel look! Can any owners confirm if it runs OK at a lower resolution in case I get a game which runs sloooow at the native res? Would rather drop the resolution than lower the detail if possible!!

I just dropped the desktop res to 800x600 and it seems to work fine, but everything does look massive on screen of this size!
