Excellent service from Virgin media

Hi Folks,

I am so impressed with Virgin media right now that I thought I should spread the word. I have been a customer for nearly 2 years now and they have never skipped a beat. I think my internet has been down once in that time and then it was only for a couple of hours.

I have recently started getting all my games from online sources like steam and direct to drive and my 2mb connection wasn't really up to it so I upgrade to 10mb line for an extra £7 per month.

I rang last night at around 6.30 and arranged it and when I got on my pc this morning to check my emails before work I checked on the off chance it had changed and it had. I was downloading 1.1 mb/s + from the speed test site.

So it took about 12 hours for the upgrade to go through, not bad at all! I would deffinately recommend them!
 
Blimey - You don't hear of too many others praising VM.
I'm been with them since October and I'm glad I changed. I get full speed all the time (except the 3-4 times I've been STM'd....sill me) and the 2 small issues I had in November were dealt with in the phone in a few mins.
 
I can jump in and praise had them for 14 months now and my 20mb connection has been rock solid 2.33mbs, only time its slow is when i get stm but i got no complaints.

Virgin are fine until some thing goes wrong, and there installs are very shoddy.

Saying that i dont think any other internet provider can provide the speeds they do(stabily)

As when ever i use mine i max it out, its just a shame about the stm.
 
personally i don't get affected by the STM, because i rarely rape mine

have been a customer in 4 properties for over 6 years now

can't fault them, once we had a lightning strike, a guy came out next day to sort it. have probably had about 2-5 days total downtime (including time that i didn't notice).

ive been with cable since the telewest 512k days and i cant say ive had many problems in all those years and i cant fault the install.

the few times i have had problems its been sorted out really fast (2-3 hardware failures in the greenbox outside) but baring in mind just how long ive been with them thats not a lot

I have been with them since 56k (telewest) and I have had 2 modems die on me and they replaced them next day. Never had any problems.

My dad called them up the other day to try a little "trick" that a few of his friends have used. You call up and say that you have seen prices a little lower on sky and thinking about switching. Then ask if there is anything they can do about their prices. My dad managed to get £10 of his monthly bill and got the sky movie channels + sport channels free.

Gotta be careful you don't get a lazy advisor there though, otherwise you could end up losing your internet completely! :p

Dont get me wrong it wasnt actully there fault as such, theres a big site near us and they went through a electric cable and took out a sub station as well.

Problem with them is ive reported the front hanging off the green box in th street for months now but because you get a indian call centre all the time they probably havnt got a clue what im on about.
