Hi

Im going to be buying my new HDTV this week either the Panasonic 42PZ80
or Sony 40W4000 for some HD gaming goodness.

I thought it would be a good idea if everybody who uses a HDTV with either
there Xbox 360 or PS3 could post what HDTV they own and why you chose it?

I own an Elonex 32'' LCD 1080i.....reason why? when I got my PS3 last year it set me back near enough £400 and the tv cost £310 from a competitor.

Gives a great pic, but will probably give it to my younger brother when I finish uni and pic up a Sammy or LG

Using my 19 inch LG monitor via the DVI port :( Doesn't really do the PS3 justice to be honest, especially due to the aspect ratio. As soon as I get some money I'm either getting a 26" monitor or a 32" TV...

Sony 40D3000 why? was one of the best highly speced non full 1080p tvs that came highly reccommended at the time as the other sony 40w2000 full hd panels were getting mixed reviews and plagued with clouding issues and there wasnt that many affordable full 1080p panels around 18 months ago how things have changed since then........
Proberbly no help to your decision, but i think you have 2 of the best tvs on your short list.

I use a Dell S2409W at 1080p. I do most of my gaming in my bedroom which is not overly big to start with, hence the reasonable monitor. Doubles up nicely when I want to use the laptop on the monitor and obviously the PS3 and 360.

I have a sony bravia, paid about 2 and half grand for her. Never regretted it!

Panny's are good, but to be fair the name puts me off.

Pannsonic is like skoda, good products but its just the name that puts me off

32a656. amazing picture, 0 input lag in game mode (though at the cost of some picture quality) and nice looking tv too :). was also one of the few 1080p 32" screens available at the time and excellent price too.

the only downsides is the reduced picture quality in game mode (because it locks out pretty much all the picture settings) and the built in speakers are 'ok' (though i use my own speakers anyway :D)

other than that excellent tv.

Panasonic 42" PX80 for PS3. Awesome tv, only really watch blu rays on it and the odd game.

Cheapo 19" Goodmans for 360. Does the job and looks really good.

Panasonic 42PZ70 1080P. Fantastic TV. Much better than the Samsung 40" 1080P LCD I had previously.

42" sammy plasma - brilliant sd picture and brilliant for gaming HD its good but not great.

new tv in about 8 months will be one which does HD a lot better though. (so not samsung!)

32v4000 got one (£450) then sold it to a mate (£430) due to needing money. Then 3 days later bought it back for £300 still in mint condition as he needed money. Could be better however due to space no need for bigger screen, does us fine though.

So you made £130 in 3 days out of your 'mate'.

No, we bought it orginally thinking we had the money and then an unepected bill came up. We went to take it back under the "7 day no quible 100% refund" except we would loose 10% as we had opened it (which was stated no where). So I sold it to him to pay my bill and lost a little money myself. He then decided he didnt want it (personal reasons) I offered what I could afford at the time which was the best offer he had.

In the end I did make/save £150 if you think about it
