HI guys for my next load of rigs, I m going to try and water cool them. not my current rig, my next lot. I have been getting brain ach over reading the "beggingers guide" to no use, I know the basic theroy already and I also know the pump must NOT to be ran dry.

I was thinking off using 1/2" barbes with 7/16" tubing, my question here is, does it have to be in a certin way to work properly, what do I need to put in it so it don't need so much attesnion, how should it be liad out etc. I got the basic idea what a loop is but you know only real limited on that x-x as for what is the best rad, pump and block I can work that out for myself :D lol its just the layout, what to put in it, does and don'ts is what i need right now, and i m not a big fan of toxic comicals in the house :|

I'd do a few more googles for "water cooling guide" if I were you then. As far as layout is concerned generally the two main do's are:

1. Pump after rez
2. Tube lengths are short as possible AND/OR easiest route.

Custom PC did an excellent beginners guide to Watercooling last year. It might be worth buying a back issue or failing that, I'd be happy to post you a copy.

It's easy than you might think.

The 7/16 tubing on 1/2 barbs is the way to go as the tubes are slightly tighter and provide a leakless connection.

My water cooling blog is here.. Might be of some use to you.

indeed it may be thanks, also I was thinking of doing a small form factor PC with water cooling, with intergrted pump, should I say away form such a thing (this would be before my major I7 gaming rig)

Admiral Huddy whats that XSPC pump/res like compared to a standard pump and res?

Also i see you said"*ID : 7/16"
*OD : 5/8"" what does the ID and OD mean i have been trying to work it out for ages.

ID=inner dimaintor OD....work it out lol as for the "1/2"ID no idea if thats in inches or not seems to be.

oh yeah and I ve been reading in other fourms, one said something about a real nasty substance(toxic) :o and anti freeze o.0

ID - inner diameter
OD - outer diameter
Measurements in inches

Toxic/Antifreeze - added as anticorision addatives (very important in mixed metal loops)

watercooling + SSF = nightmare (read the build logs it's possable but not recomented)

Every question asked is in the guides - I know it's easier to ask, but you really need to do some research if you want a custom system.

The first question to ask yourself is why you want to watercool - it's looks cool, is a valid reason btw, but it is more hassle than a aircooled pc with limited realworld advantages unless silent running is your aim (which is major hassle) or benchmarking

don't say that or you will never try it, and water cooling cos it looks cool o.O hmmm in my case yeah and cos its silent...and got potensial to push the computer more(more cooling, harder I can push it) if i get the pre mixed stuff I shouldn't have to worry about anti frezze or chorine etc
